Bricon has completed three projects on our house over the last several years. The first project was a major addition to our home, adding a garage and replacing our small kitchen. The second was a complete bathroom renovation. And the most recent job was a complete basement renovation, including removal of supporting walls.
In short, we are elated with the work Bricon has done, which I think is amply proven by the fact we have continued to use them for these major and complex house renovation projects (and will continue to do so in the future.)
Brian Walls, the president of Bricon, has a wealth of experience and an incredible ability to "view the project through the eyes of the home owner." Brian was able to take our basic vision for the kitchen renovation and create a master plan that completely fulfilled our dreams. This required extremely complex engineering in almost every area, mandating support steel beams and complex oversight of plumbing and other subtrades.
He personally managed every aspect of the project, ensuring the highest quality from both his own exceptionally talented crew and all subtrades.
When we decided to renovate our basement last fall, Brian again carefully listened to our goals, and created a plan that fit our desires, despite the complex engineering required. Two foot supporting walls were removed and replaced with multiple steel beams, that incredibly were placed within the joust lines without any drop boxing (yet all plans and materials were professionally designed and installed meeting the highest standard of building codes and standards.)
In any large project, unexpected challenges will occur (especially on an older home like ours.) I believe the true test of the calibre of a general building contractor is how they handle these inevitable problems. In every instance of problems we encountered in our projects, regardless of whether the issue was from Bricon work or their subtrades, Brian personally ensured that our concerns were heard and addressed quickly and efficiently, regardless of the cost. This level of customer satisfaction is rare, I think, in the construction industry.
